But these aren´t the only two reasons to go! Besides bringing some rims back from JGE and MWS I have to deliver a type 3 Ghia to Alex Taylor and pick up my latest toy!
Our new City Cruizer will be a 1989 Nissan Pao! This funky little car has it all! Cool looks, full size ragtop, two piece rear hatch, automatic tranny and AC!

After running through the Bug Box treatment the car will be looking a bit different! I have not chosen a look yet but James sent me his ideas!

The first European Bug In came and went! It took me a while to think about it and find out what really happened!
I think that most people expected a lot more but did forget that the bad weather on friday and saturday brought everybody down! It would have helped if there would have been a nice tent where you could have come together to chat, drink and eat! There was no such thing!
The food and toilet thing was discussed enough on various forums so I don´t want to roll it up again!
I´m sure that the guys behind the EBI will do much better next year!
It is always nice to meet friends from all over the planet and for myself this is more important than an autograph hour or a photoshooting with some oldtimers that put BRM´s on a 5year old car back in 1972! That those heroes showed up at the 1st EBI is cool but shouldn´t cause drag racers that brought their cars hundreds and thousands of kilometres to the Bug In to wait until it rains to push their rides back into the pits!
The girls and boys who raced and put all their cash into their cars prior to Bug In are the reason why something like that works out so good! Those people are the real heroes of the EBI!
Let´s not forget the numberous cars down in the show and shine, cal look display and slalom area that got totally lost and most visitors didn´t even know that there was more going on that just racing on a quater of a mile!
I guess a lot of VW owners went home disappointed because the part of the programm they brought their cars for never happened or the amount of trophies sponsored was too little! I feel sad for these people but again I think this part will be much better at EBI No.2 in 2008!
Thanks to the organizers for this nice show and I´m sure you all learnt what big amount of effort is involved to put it together! You got my respect!
See you in 2008!
We had a 750km drive to Chimay and took plenty of parts with us! Sadly enough we couldn´t make the STRIPPER drive!
I was impressed from the quantity of new and old racecars showing up!
What money can buy!
What a lot less money can do!

Two cars from back in the day when chopped roofs where king! We did 2 in 1990, wich was early for Germany but these beetles are survivors from the 70´s/ 80´s!
