A WEEKEND IN MUNICH

The weatherforecast was perfect and I had to deliver some parts to a customer in Munich anyways! We took the chance to drive the PAO down to the bavarian capital to spend a relaxed weekend there!

DSCF0490

Yes, it does 90 mph all the way if required! We even managed to have it running 100mph on the straight!

DSCF0541

Funfair at the 1972 Munich olympic stadium!

The Müllersche Volksbad  was built around 1900 on an island in the Isar river and was the most expensive spa at it´s time! After a current restauration the spa is again in full use and is said to be one of the most beautiful spas worldwide!

After a short visit to our family´s old house...

JAP CRUIZER PART 2

Being back from England I got the PAO off the trailor asap!

DSCF0449

Everybody liked the little car from the first sight!

DSCF0455

First I decided to put some BBS on !

DSCF0458

I felt it needed some lowering!

DSCF0465

4 springs and a suspension service later it sat right but I still was not confident with it´s looks!

DSCF0468

I had to have the DOTZ Daytonas in 6,5x15" with 165-50´s up front and 175-55´s in the rear!

Two things are sad:

1. You cant mount bigger diameter rims than 15´s (they come rollin stock on 12`s!)

2. The daytonas are only made in black from 17" and bigger ! 16" and smaller are always silver with machined lip!

The next JAP-project?

DSCF0445

On the way back from England I saw this custom Materia cruising the belgian Autobahn! I´ve already been at the Daihatsu dealer before to check this cool little van out!

www.mymateria.de

Yesterday we took delivery of a kid´s quad that I bought on Ebay for a friend of mine who has no computer!

DSCF0459

The big kids had to try it first but as soon as Max came home from Kindergarden it all changed!

DSCF0462

The first thing he did was to put on his helmet!

DSCF0463

Now we have to get a second one!

MY TRAVELS

5500kilometres on the road on the last 3 weekends! People often ask why I´m not in the shop on the weekends! I simply can´t!

But sometimes this job has something cool! You see a lot of different countries and meet so many people!

Weekend 1:

DSCF0079

Down to the bavarian sea! The Chiemsee!

It´s one of my favourite places to be on this planet! What a view from your breakfeast table!

DSCF0129

The reason to go was to pick up this 62 SAMBA!

It´s been sold the same day I bought it!

Weekend 2:

DSCF0229

Going down to the beautiful italian island of Albarella to relax for "1" day before going back over the amazing the Lago di Garda! Two places not very typical for Italy and that´s the reason why I like them! Clean and piecefull!

DSCF0254

DSCF0261

DSCF0262

Just to pick up this 1962 fire dept. panel on the way back! Started friday afternoon and came back sunday night!

DSCF0292

DSCF0293

DSCF0334

This car is a very good base car for a restoration or to drive as is! Price 7000€ including original paperwork and key!

Weekend 3:

DSCF0343

That´s me waiting to catch the train through the channel tunnel to get to England on friday noon! It was already a 9,5hour drive to get to Calais!

DSCF0344

After another 4 hours through rain and traffic a met up with James from the Greenharts who got me a Nissan Pao. We drove to Portsmouth to attend the Greenharts monthly club night at the Funkenblitz shop!

DSCF0346

I dropped off the Razor that I brought for Alex Taylor and decided to go to bed early after beeing on my feet for about 22 hours!

DSCF0348

Was very nice seeing you guys again! Can´t wait til Drag Day!

DSCF0361

The next mornig, with the PAO already on the trailer, I decided to go down to Portsmouth again to take the coastal road to Brighton and then go up direction London and Cambridge!

DSCF0365

DSCF0366

Before Brighton I went into a supermarket to fuel my body up and soon found the right stuff!

What exactely does family fuel do? If daddy drinks it the family soon groes bigger? Is that what it does?

DSCF0368

I came across the next cool thing on the parking outside the market! East european immigrants with special carts are all over the place to clean your car and maybe check out what you left inside!

DSCF0369

ON HAND!

DSCF0370

Isn´t that exactely what you expect to see when you visit the UK? I´m looking forward to go to the VANFEST in september!

DSCF0373

Spotted in the Brigton area: FAT PEOPLE ARE HARD TO KIDNAP! How true!

Another 2 additional questions about the UK:

1.Why do the English drive so many french cars?

2. Why do so many people break down with their cars on the english motorsways?

I counted 38 breakdowns on 250 kilometres of motorway!

DSCF0374

Dartford Crossing! Both, the tunnel and the bride are unbelievable buildings!

DSCF0375

My old lady was already waiting for me in front of the T2D / T3D headquaters on saturday afternoon! She is still wearing her ugly gasburners! Paul!!! Please!!!

DSCF0377

As soon as I got there I realised that Mr. Med also is about to dive in the JAP-CRUISER-THING! He´s already got a Cube and now added a PAO to his car park!

DSCF0382

The place to stay for the night! The Flatline Lowriders from Belgium were in the same B&B as you can easily see in the window!

DSCF0387

As Puppy promised a naked bar-b-q on saturday evening quite a few VW-celebs already showed up the day before the open day to get disappointed by a full dressed Mr.Med! The Burger donations would be much higher if you´d leave the clothes off ,Paul! :-)

...but we all liked the "balls out" stunt bike performance you gave us!

DSCF0390

Scotty came in his barndoor! The oldest know right hand drive in the UK! Scotty´s favourite colours are now beige and brown!

DSCF0391

Part of the belgian delegation.

DSCF0392

Gunther H. as the only part of the CSP delegation!

DSCF0394

Filling up the parking on saturday evening!

DSCF0400

You need to be faster Paul! One hand barbeque motion!

DSCF0404

Matt in the pre Heaven mode! It looks like he´s trying to drink the beer through his nose!

DSCF0409

If you look very close you can see Freddy lurking through the DJ-bus window.

DSCF0411

The next morning quite a few people had a certain stamp on different body parts!

DSCF0413

Freddy and his belly are checking out Russels new project in the T3D workshop.

DSCF0416

DSCF0417

DSCF0418

Oh yes! This early Fasty looked soooo right to me! 205-conversion is a must on them!

DSCF0424

DSCF0425

DSCF0422

Ex-T2D project car! I´m jealous because of the size of the plate!

DSCF0419

The most famous panel in the world!

DSCF0426

21 windows ,a little slamming ,a narrowed beam and quite a bit duct tape make a looker!

DSCF0430

I liked the painted over-duct tape-details best!

DSCF0427

DSCF0432

Who would have payed attention to a rolled over Kombi 7years ago?

DSCF0433

Filling up by noon. Not long before I had to leave!

DSCF0434

DSCF0435

Bye, bye T3D´s!

In the works

DSCF0182

Giovanni´s 64 SUB HATCH WESTI got completely stripped and all box sections opened before going to the media blaster.

DSCF0185

This 62 ragtop sedan gets a new swingaxle gearbox, new tires , exhaust and needs a sorting out of a few other things to get street legal!

DSCF0450

62 SAMBA gets stripped prior to full 100 points resto including a couple more horses , discs and lowering!

DSCF0467

Best detail ahs to be the on-board -safe!

DSCF0453

Max is trying to help whenever possible! Here he is raising a 4-wheeler!

DSCF0184

1962 double cab 6-cylinder conversion is now running and driving! We added a little Swimmwagen bonus to it!

JAP CRUIZER

I´m really looking forward to go to England next week to spend time with my buddies at the JG 54 Greenhearts Cruise on friday and the T3D OPEN DAY on saturday!

But these aren´t the only two reasons to go! Besides bringing some rims back from JGE and MWS I have to deliver a type 3 Ghia to Alex Taylor and pick up my latest toy!

Our new City Cruizer will be a 1989 Nissan Pao! This funky little car has it all! Cool looks, full size ragtop, two piece rear hatch, automatic tranny and AC!

pao1

pao2

I don´t think that there is one registered in Germany! If you know of another one just drop me a line! walter@bug-box.de

After running through the Bug Box treatment the car will be looking a bit different! I have not chosen a look yet but James sent me his ideas!

BBS three piece rims and lowering springs are already here and there are plenty of rattle cans in the shelf!

I can´t wait....!
