KARMANN GHIA IMPORT

Yesterday we took delivery of our lastest imporetd car from CA. It´s a 1971 KG convertible with only 36 000 og miles! It was ordered by a local gentleman who came up to us with his dream and within a couple weeks we exactely got him what he wanted. This cars condition is amazing and I doubt I would find another one like it! We are currently converting the light and give it a little service before it goes to the TÜV on friday and gets delivered to the owner!

HOLIDAY

After working straight for almost 24 month I decided that the time was right to turn off the phone and relax for a couple of days! To me there are some cool places on the planet to go and take a few days off. One is not too far from us: THE COTE DÀZUR!

From Menton to Nice, to St.Tropez and Toulon! What a cool little trip! No cars, just relax with the family and do some scooter and boat riding....!

The Menton beach with no Volkswagens! The Cox dÁzur meeting is in august!

DSCF9275

The beautiful medival village of Roquebrune just up the hill between Menton and Monaco! One of the most interessting and hidden places on the cote!

DSCF9289

One of the "leading hotels of the world" the Negresco on the promenade dÁnglais in Nice!

DSCF9302

The pink easter bunny sure missed out his season! I didn´t know that they turn pink in june and spend the off season in the south of France! Is there one or more?

DSCF9345

The promenade dÁnglais in Nice! You can ride your bike an hour straight till you get to the other end at the airport! Amazing colours !

DSCF9519

On the way to St. Tropez I checked if this german registered IMP is still there! It is! It hasn´t been moved in 10 years and every time I get there I pay him a visit!

One of the coolest places on the Cote is the village of Port Grimaud! Despite looking a couple hundred years old the entire village was built in the late 1960´s and early 70´s by the suisse architect Spoerry! It sits almost completely on poles like Venice and every house has access from the street and the water!

Check it out!

After a few days there it was time to go back home and prepare for EBI!

Histo Races @ Salzburg Ring

A couple weeks ago we went to the historical Salzburg Ring, a small racetrack in between the mountains. The track is too small for fast race classes like DTM or others but is often used by vintage car enthusiast to have test and tune events or oltimer races.

The most interessting part is to see so many different types of cars racing during one weeken. The also had a Youngtimer Trophy and a BMW 325i race....!

A lot of fun in the austrian sun!

...first sight was this austrian whore house advertising van and secound sight...

CAGED STRIPPER

Yesterday we finished putting all the cage tubes in and spot welded them into place! We will tig weld the whole construction when the body is off the pan!

DSCF9218

The shift rod is already shortened and the shifter raise box is in place!

The Berg unit is a little high, so is the short CSP shifter but Thomas from CSP stepped in and is going to make a "one off shifter" with a 5 centimetre shorter rod for me! Number 14 from the 77 shifters made for Bug in in going to be really special!

ULTRA VW talks to...

Silvia was having a "CohhBeaH" while reading the T3D / Puppy interview in the latest Ultra VW issue! Our english friends wanted a cold beer but slangwise the waiter in Hannover understood "COKE BEER"! and brought this north Germany specialty! From what I heard neither Beaker nor Ben did like it but Puppy gladly took over to help his friends out!

THE OLD AND THE NEW

Yesterday was a big day! I finally dropped off my T5 and got the new one! The old car was at the dealership 42 times in the last 2years to get mechanical problems fixed! Finally the Volkswagen Werk decided to take it back and let me have another one!

I decided to go for a Caravelle (Made in Germany, hopefully) instead of a Shuttle (Made in Poland) this time! Besides the little darker shade of blue it basically is the same car! 4Motion, dual slider,TDI 174horses, 5seater, long wheel base!
