This incredible type 34 got delivered to THE BUG BOX yesterday! It is here to get some TLC after sitting in a show room for 12 years!

This 1968 Karmann Ghia only covered 11 500 kilometres in the last 39 years!

It´s the same year I am! I want it!!!

THE PRÄSI PICK UP

..FROM BEST TO WORST!!!

DSCF8549

It was last week tuesday when THE PREZ showed up to finally get the hornbutton and TÜV for his pick up! The button came out of the hands of a licenced junk dealer!

But cash alone wouldn´t have sold the rare piece! Sex sells! The Prez had to throw a little strip show in!

DSCF8550

After the deal he decided to rest next to my project racer and give the work shop manager!

DSCF8551

As I told you earlier it was also TÜV day at the Bug Box! We made a cruise down to the TÜV station! It was like it always is: "JUST A REGULAR DAY AT THE TÜV"!

DSCF8553

DSCF8557

The Austrians were first! This 67 Westi got it all! Bug Box narrowed beam with our special link pin disc brake dropped spindles, Bug Box IRS kit and some fancy genuine Porsche rims! Aftre getting the german TÜV certificate it is sometimes possible to get the car through austrian inspections!

Chilling in the shadow of the TÜV building at mid summer temperatures!

DSCF8560

Second in the row was Lado and Antonias supercool og paint SAMBA ! It  finally got a Bug Box adjustable beam , CSP 14" disc brake and a Bug Box IRS rear end! Next would be more power in my opinion! :-)

DSCF8562

The Prez put his very own cookie TÜV sticker on to make it legal the OLD SCHOOL POLICE way!

DSCF8561

Before the final candidate that day, the cars lined up behind the TÜV building!

Looks like any other day to me!

Last but not least the pick up had to go on the lift! It got the 2276 engine put in the papers!

The biggest surprise was the arts nest that Udo found in the heater tube!

DSCF8575

DSCF8576

That day everybody was happy and confident and got back home in one piece!
A couple days later the Prez decided to test drive the now street legal single cab to adjust the carbs and ignition as suddnly the engine caught fire due to a overfloating carb!

DSCF4861a

The Prez didn´t loose his sence of humor though but was pissed that the fire departement needed 20 minutes to arrive! Sitting on the guard rail, smoking a cigarrette and watching your car burn is nothing you want to experience!

Drive it like it is and restore it later! Good luck Prez!

SATURDAY AT THE VETERAMA

I try to go to many swap meets as possible to find parts for the project cars in our shop. On saturday morning I was on my way to Ludwigshafen to check out the spring VETERAMA! Last year it was a good show with quite a few bargains! To me this years show changed a lot! First of all prices seem to go up in the air for regualar parts and nothing new shows up! No more treasures and bargains there! Second bad thing is that there is a increasing number of amatures importing cars and parts and selling them without traders licence! I wonder how long the officials and the goverment will keep there eyes shut!

On my way to the show I saw this 911 Turbo on the autobahn! It seemed to burn! Don´t be afraid! It was just a fly on my wind shield!

DSCF8518

Peter Fried always has rare parts and cars on display!

Riveted 906 rim sure was expensive! Who needs it? I suppose there are not many 906s out there sitting on their brakes!

DSCF8524

I guess for the price of this Heb replica you can get a genuine project car! At least the body work is almost done! Or buy the ROSENSTIEL ROADSTER on Oldbug.com!

DSCF8521

The good thing is that the builder of this replica also makes Heb only repair panels if you are desperate for them!

DSCF8522

The seller of this Samba bought it in Austria a week ago for around 25 000€! Funny thing is that he offered it a week later for 35000€ and not being a professional car dealer I suppose! This guy is one of the few big time wasters in the scene and doesn´t belong here! Create your own oppinion!

DSCF8525

What is wrong with this old Mercedes coupe? I don´t mean the seat covers (for those who looked inside!)!

DSCF8528

This nice ex-austrian 2,4litre "S" was soooo cool with the matching golf bag on the rear seat!

DSCF8526

TAXI sign on the brush painted early 70´s 2 door Ford Taunus XL.

DSCF8529

"LEDIG" is the german word for "SINGLE"! Imagine cruising around town on saturday night with the "SINGLE LIGHT" on! How cool!

DSCF8530

On my way back home I had to stop in Nürnberg to get some gas when I discovered this!

DSCF8531

I you call this bad, I can tell you it could have been worse.....if it was painted pink!

To top thinks off the air condition in my 2 year old T5 bus was again not working with temperatures of around 30°Celsius in the shadow and 750kilometres to tarvel! This could have been worse also... if there would have been a traffic jam! Have a nice and chilled out sunday! I will!

CITY SWEEPER nears completition

We finally got a couple of suspension parts that we have been waiting for quite a long time! Everything is custom made by or for us so it sometimes requires patience until you can make another step!

Custom 250kmh speedo and gauges came pretty quick!

DSCF8300

Almost everything that has to do with oil and fuel had to be modified or fabricated from scratch!

DSCF8508

The rear reconditioned 944 Porsche brakes were test fitted by Konrad!

DSCF8506

DSCF8507

The first time on it´s new rims! Looks like a three wheeler?
