FINALLY WINTER

Around christmas I almost thought that the Americans destroy the ozon layer to give us the same climate they have in California. Advantages: They can keep their cars because ours won´t rust anymore and I can grow palm trees in front of the workshop! Sadly I was wrong! It hit us last week and the Cali cars in front of the show probably saw snow for their first time in their lives! I now know that shit can be white! Luckily it´s gone again but I suppose I could hit us again!

VOLKSROD RIMS

DSCF6758

DSCF6759

A couple of days ago our friend Tom stopped by to show us his latest "products"! He is currently building a weird high tech Volksrod and does everything himself! He designed and made his own 2-piece rims at home!!! He will run 944 brakes all around so the rims have Porsche pattern. He also made a set with stock beetle 4 lug pattern! It is so cool when you own a mill and a lathe and got the skills to fabricate stuff like that.

FRIDAY LAST WEEK

A usual fridays are very busy for me! People have plenty of time and stop by to get parts or pick up their cars!

Frank picked up his 65 Westi. He will be finishing it up himself! We welded a few spots and restored the whole undercarriage!

Check our site for the whole story:

Giovanni checked out his 64 sub hatch Westi we bought and imported for him in California! He seemed to be pretty impressed by the quality of the car. Almost no rust and a fully functional driver. The bus is going to stay with us for a good Bug Box treatment: front beam, disc brakes, IRS ,engine, 12volt and much more...!

Check our site www.bug-box.de and go to"Projekte Laufende" for our current projects!

How do you like those early , super rare Carrera 2 16"rims? We would have to put at least 20 millimeter spacer on!

CITY SWEEPER

Today it´s getting an extra engine lid!

DSCF2508

Modified shortened type25 (T3) engine lid goes in the extended luggage compartement! If you do something similar please use a metal lid, not the later plastic version! It will make the whole thing a lot easier!

I don´t know if the vintage Holley red top would work! I think it´s more or less something for the shrine! Single circuit brake is scary to me!
